Panasonic launches the LUMIX G90
Panasonic’s latest offering is well equipped with a 20.3-megapixel sensor and 4K recording for photos and videos.
The Panasonic Lumix G90 appeals to both still photographers and videographers with a 20.3 megapixel live live MOS sensor, Venus engine and five-axis dual IS2 that offer both OIS and BIS as well as 4K and Full HD video recording.
The rugged design of the G90 is splash and dust resistant and has been redesigned to allow for easy one-hand operation. Users can now find the exposure, ISO, and white balance buttons in a row with the top plate, as well as a dial with buttons on the back. It also has customizable dials front and back.
The G90 features Panasonic’s 4K photo mode, which features a new auto-marking feature to automatically detect images with changes to the image, as well as Sequence Composition mode, which combines multiple images into one shot for a fun effect. Other features include post-focus, focus stacking, a newly added Live View composite capture, and photo styles for creative image effects. It also has built-in Bluetooth for image transmission and GPS tagging.
To extend the life of the battery, a new energy-saving feature has been introduced that puts the camera to sleep after a certain period of inactivity. The camera is then woken up when the shutter button is half pressed. At a full charge, the G90 should hold about 900 images.
The Panasonic Lumix G90 will be available from June 2019 with a recommended retail price of around 1050 euros, 1250 euros for a 12-60 mm lens or 1475 euros for a 14-140 mm lens.
